'Shriekers' raramente é usado para pessoas no dia a dia; aparece mais em literatura, terror ou fantasia (monstros, multidões assustadas). Sugere sons agudos e altos. Não confundir com 'yellers', que gritam sem necessariamente ser estridentes.
