털이나 금속 등이 힘에 의해 잘리거나 갑자기 분리된 상태를 말합니다. 보통 양의 털을 깎거나 무언가가 날카로운 힘으로 끊어진 상황에서 씁니다.

'sheared sheep'처럼 농업에서, 'sheared off'처럼 금속이나 부품이 끊어질 때 주로 씁니다. 'shared'(공유)와 혼동하지 마세요.
