"serve two masters" in Japanese
Definition
利害が対立する二人（または二つの団体）に忠実に仕えようとすること。どちらにも満足させるのは不可能、つまり同時に二つの対立する側に忠誠はできないことを意味します。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
聖書由来でややフォーマルな表現。主に“忠誠の分裂”や利害対立の文脈で使う。単なるマルチタスクには使わない。『You cannot serve two masters.』という形も多い。
