言葉や記号の意味に関連する事柄。主に言語学や言語解析で使われます。

主に学術的・専門的な文脈（言語学、コンピュータ科学「セマンティックWeb」、哲学など）で使います。日常会話にはほとんど登場しません。「syntactic（構文的）」と対比されることが多いです。
