Definition

道具や硬いものでこすったり削ったりして、表面についたものを取り除くこと。汚れやペンキ、くっついたものに使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

食べ物や汚れなど、くっついたものを取り除くときによく使います。『scrape off the paint』『scrape off the dirt』など、道具を使って力を入れて取る場面で使われます。大きいものには使いません。
