"scare up" in Korean

간신히 구하다어렵게 마련하다

Definition

시간이나 자원이 부족할 때 무언가를 간신히 찾거나 마련하는 것.

미국식 영어에서 많이 쓰이는 구어체 표현. 즉흥적이거나 힘들게 무언가를 마련할 때 쓴다. 'scare'의 두려움 의미와는 무관하다.

We need to scare up some chairs for the extra guests.

추가 손님을 위해 의자를 **간신히 구해야** 해요.

Can you scare up some cash for the pizza?

피자 살 돈 좀 **어렵게 마련할** 수 있어?

They managed to scare up a few volunteers for the event.
