'Scale down' थोड़ा औपचारिक है और आमतौर पर परियोजनाओं, बजट या ऑपरेशनों के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है ('scale down production')। निजी कमियों के लिए आमतः 'cut down' कहते हैं।
