Definition

बेहद गर्म, खासकर ऐसा तरल या भाप जो त्वचा को जला सकता है। 'Scalding' पानी, पेय या बहुत गर्म चीज़ों के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

अधिकतर बहुत गर्म तरल, जैसे 'scalding water', 'scalding coffee' के लिए। 'Hot' से ज़्यादा तेज, 'boiling' से कम। कभी-कभी कठोर आलोचना के लिए भी ('scalding criticism')। ठोस के लिए शायद ही इस्तेमाल होता है।
