事実や情報について知っていることを表します。「彼」「彼女」または丁寧な「あなた」に使われる形です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「知っている」は事実や情報について使い、人の知り合いである場合は使わない（その場合は「知り合い」や「面識がある」）。質問で「あなたは知っていますか？」のように使われます。
