تعديل رقم إلى أقرب قيمة محددة (مثل أقرب عدد صحيح أو عشرة أو منزلة عشرية). يستخدم غالبًا في الرياضيات والمال.

يستخدم في السياقات التقنية والأكاديمية واليومية عند تقريب أو تبسيط أرقام. كثيرًا مع 'to the nearest...' (مثال: 'round off to the nearest ten'). لا تخلط بينه وبين 'round up' (التقريب للأعلى) أو 'round down' (التقريب للأسفل). يستخدم رسميًا وغير رسمي.
