Definition

किसी पौधे, वस्तु या चीज को उसकी जड़ समेत पूरी तरह हटाना। यह किसी चीज़ को पूरी तरह से खत्म करने का भी अर्थ रख सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

अक्सर पौधों या रूपक समस्याओं के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है, जैसे 'root up the weeds' या 'root up corruption'। ज्यादा औपचारिक या ग्रामीण माहौल में चलता है। 'dig up' से न मिलाएँ, जो पूरी जड़ के बिना हो सकता है।
