岩石

Definition

岩や石は、自然にできた硬い物質で、地面や山、海岸など屋外で見られます。大きな岩や小さい石の両方を指します。

通常は複数形で使われます。「rock」は大きめの岩、「stone」は小石や建築用に使われることが多いです。日常会話では地面や砂浜にある小〜中くらいの石を指すことが多いです。

The river has many rocks in it.

川にはたくさんの**岩**や**石**があります。

Be careful not to step on the rocks.
