A qualidade de ser rígido, inflexível ou incapaz de dobrar ou mudar. Pode referir-se a objetos físicos ou a atitudes, regras ou sistemas muito restritos.

'Rigidity' é formal e emprega-se para rigidez física ou para ideias e sistemas pouco abertos a mudanças. É oposto a 'flexibility'. Usos comuns: 'rigidity of the law', 'rigidity of thought'.
