الشعور بالندم على شيء خاطئ فعلته والعزم على عدم تكراره. غالبًا ما يستخدم للتعبير عن الندم الأخلاقي أو الديني.

غالبًا ما يُستخدم في السياقات الرسمية أو الدينية ('repented of his sins'). يدل على ندم صادق ورغبة في التغيير، وليس مجرد الشعور بالأسف.
