농작물을 수확하거나, 비유적으로 어떤 행동의 결과나 보상을 얻는 것을 뜻함.

현대에는 비유적인 의미인 'reap the benefits', 'reap what you sow' 등으로 더 자주 쓰임. '얻다'보다 더 격식 있고 문학적인 어감. 농사 의미는 일상에서 드물게 사용.
