締め切りや限られた時間の中で、できるだけ早く何かをしようとすること。多くの場合、緊急時に使われる表現です。

「時間との戦い」は比喩的な表現で、時間に追われている焦りやプレッシャーが強調されます。「時間との競争」とも言います。
