Fazer alguém ou algo ficar mais calmo ou silencioso, ou tornar-se mais calmo.

É mais usado no inglês britânico; em inglês americano, usa-se mais 'quiet down' ou 'calm down'. Aplica-se a crianças, animais ou situações ficando mais calmas. Pode ser transitivo ou intransitivo. É mais educado do que 'shut up'.
