白色や透明な、硬くてよく見られる鉱物です。ガラスや時計、宝石作りに使われます。

主に科学や工業、宝石の文脈で使います。「quartz crystal」「quartz watch」は時計や鉱物の話でよく出ます。日常会話ではあまり使いません。
