অনিচ্ছাকৃতভাবে বা না ভেবেই এমন কিছু বলা যা অন্যকে বিব্রত, কষ্ট বা বিরক্ত করে।

অফিস বা পারিবারিক পরিবেশে কারো মনে আঘাত লাগে এরকম ভুলভাবে কিছু বলা বোঝাতে এই কথা বলা হয়। ইংরেজি 'put your foot in your mouth'-এর সমতুল্য।
