Enganar alguém ou levá-lo a acreditar em algo que não é verdade, normalmente de forma astuta ou sorrateira.

É uma expressão informal e algo antiquada. Costuma-se usar quando alguém é enganado de forma astuta, em situações leves. Equivale a 'passar a perna a'. Não se usa para crimes graves.
