Definition

상대방의 기분을 생각해서 직설적으로 말하지 않고 비판을 부드럽게 하거나 말을 아끼는 것. 비유적으로 자주 사용됨.

주로 비판, 피드백 상황에서 사용하고, 'not pull punches'는 '있는 그대로 말하다'의 뜻. 실제 주먹질과는 무관하다.

Please don't pull punches when you give me feedback.
