يقول أو يتنبأ أن شيئًا ما سيحدث في المستقبل، عادة بشكل ديني أو غيبي.

Usage Notes (Arabic)

كلمة رسمية أو أدبية، تُستخدم غالباً مع الأنبياء أو النصوص الدينية. لا تخلط بين 'prophesies' (فعل) و 'prophecies' (اسم). غالباً تُستخدم بصيغة الغائب: 'She prophesies...'. نادرة في المحادثات اليومية.
