Definition
原則とは、人の考え方や行動、判断を導く基本的な信念や価値観、ルールのことです。多くの場合、簡単に破りたくない大切な基準を指します。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
「strong principles」は強い信念、「basic principles of science」は科学の基本原理の意味です。よく「stick to your principles」、「against my principles」、「guided by principles」などの形で使われます。「principal」とは意味が異なるので注意しましょう。
