Definition

聲稱自己是其實並不是某身份的人，通常用來欺騙他人。有時（尤其在歷史中）指聲稱擁有王位或頭銜但實際上沒有的人。

通常帶有貶義，指假冒、虛偽或不誠實的人。可指自稱有本事、名氣或權力的人。歷史語境下，'pretender' 指自稱有皇位權利的人。不用於兒童遊戲或日常表演。
