مخاطبة إله أو روح أو قوة عُليا عادة لطلب المساعدة أو الإرشاد أو لتقديم الشكر.

Usage Notes (Arabic)

يُستخدم غالباً في سياق ديني، وأحياناً بشكل مجازي ('pray to the universe'). عادةً يتبعها ذكر لمن تصلي ('pray to God'). 'Pray' أعم؛ 'pray to' يحدد الجهة.

يُصلي الكثير من الناس إلى الله كل ليلة.

He decided to pray to his ancestors for wisdom.
