Hacer que algo parezca menos importante, serio o significativo de lo que realmente es.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Generalmente informal o neutral. Se usa cuando alguien trata de que un problema, error o noticia negativa parezca menos grave. Expresiones frecuentes: 'play down the risks', 'play down the incident'. No confundir con 'play up' (exagerar/realzar).
