Definition

ペアは同じ種類のものが2つで一組となっているものを指します。よく一緒に使うものや、二人組の人にも使います。

'a pair of'の後に名詞が続きます（a pair of shoes、a pair of scissorsなど）。見た目が複数形でも「pair」を使う名詞があります。人に対してもカジュアルに使います： 'They make a good pair.'

I bought a new pair of shoes.

新しい**ペア**の靴を買いました。

This pair of socks is clean.

この**ペア**の靴下はきれいです。

The teacher put us in pairs for the game.

先生は私たちを**ペア**に分けてゲームをしました。

That shirt would go well with a pair of jeans.
