서임식은 누군가를 사제, 목사와 같은 종교 지도자로 공식적으로 임명하는 종교 의식입니다. 넓게는 종교적인 직책에 임명하는 절차를 말하기도 합니다.

거의 항상 기독교 맥락에서 사용되며, 'priestly ordination', 'ordination ceremony'와 같이 종교적 의식에 자주 접목됩니다. 교회 밖에서는 드물게 쓰입니다.
