Usado para dizer que alguém ou algo está indo em direção a um lugar, ou que algo acontecerá em breve.

Expressão informal, comum em conversas. Pode ser usada literalmente ('Estou a caminho') ou para algo que vai acontecer em breve ('A ajuda está a caminho'). Não confundir com 'on my way', que é mais pessoal.
