Definition

舞台にいる俳優や物ではなく、観客から見えない場所や舞台の外のことを指します。音や行動が舞台外で起こる場合も含みます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に演劇やパフォーマンスで使われる言葉で、形容詞、副詞、名詞として使われます。「wait offstage」や「offstage noise」などの表現でよく使われ、「backstage」とは意味が少し異なります。
