誰かのためや特定の目的のために何かを手に入れること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

ややフォーマルな場面や書き言葉で使われることが多い。「obtain for」の後には人や目的が続く。会話では「get for」を使うのが自然。単なる「obtain」では「誰のためか」が明確でない。
