একজন দাই-মা বা আয়া হল এমন একজন নারী, যার কাজ পরিবারের বাড়িতে শিশুদের দেখাশোনা করা, বিশেষ করে অতীতে।

'Nursemaid' শব্দটি এখন প্রায় ব্যবহৃত হয় না; 'nanny' বা 'babysitter' আধুনিক শব্দ। 'Nursemaid' সাধারণত পুরনো গল্প বা ইতিহাসে দেখা যায়। এটি পেশাদার নার্স নয়।
