してはいけないするべきではない

Definition

その場面でやることが許されていない、期待されていない、または正しくないことを表します。規則や義務を示す時によく使います。

「You are not supposed to...」「I'm not supposed to...」という形でよく使います。禁止や義務をやわらかく伝える表現です。「must not」ほど強くありません。

You are not supposed to eat in class.

教室で**食べてはいけません**。

I'm not supposed to be here after 8 p.m.

私は午後8時以降ここに**いるべきではありません**。
