누군가에게 거짓이나 불완전한 정보를 주어 사실과 다르게 믿게 만드는 것.

주로 공식적이거나 법률, 미디어 같은 상황에서 사용. 'deliberately mislead', 'mislead the public' 등에서 의도를 강조. '거짓말하다'보다는 덜 직접적.
