습기가 많은 곳에서 곰팡이에 덮이거나 손상된 상태. 보통 퀴퀴한 냄새나 얼룩이 남는다.

주로 책, 옷, 벽, 음식 등에 사용한다. 곰팡이 자체가 아니라 그로 인한 결과를 뜻하며, 부정적인 의미가 강하다.

This bread is mildewed. Don't eat it.
