「mid」表示某事物的中間或一半，常用於時間段或位置，如「七月中旬」或「半空中」。

通常作為前綴與連字符一起使用（如「mid-June」、「mid-1980s」），或用於「in mid-air」等短語。不要單獨當名詞用。避免說「in the mid of」，應該用「in the middle of」。
