Definition

একটি পরিবেশ বা অনুভূতি যেখানে সবাই একসাথে আনন্দ ও আনন্দ-উল্লাস উপভোগ করে, সাধারণত কোনো উৎসব বা অনুষ্ঠানে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'Merriment' বেশি সাহিত্যিক বা আনুষ্ঠানিক। কথ্য বাংলায় 'আনন্দ' বা 'হাসি-ঠাট্টা' বেশি ব্যবহৃত। 'পূর্ণ আনন্দে ভরা' বা 'আনন্দের শব্দ'র মতো বাক্যে ব্যবহার হয়। মৃদু বা নীরব খুশির জন্য নয়।
