メロドラマは、感情が強調され、はっきりしたヒーローと悪役が登場し、観客の感情に強く訴えかけるドラマや映画、テレビ番組です。

「メロドラマ」は感情が大げさで非現実的な展開が多く、特にテレビドラマや古い芝居で使われます。否定的に「やりすぎ」「感情的すぎる」と批判する際にも用いられます。
