あるものを別のものに直接対応させること。特にアイデアやデータなどを一つのシステムから別のシステムに整理するときに使う。

主に学術やビジネス、技術分野で使われる。'map A onto B'は「AをBに対応させる」という意味で、地図の意味では使わない。
