"lower the boom" in Korean

누군가를 엄하게 처벌하거나 단호한 조치를 취하는 것. 보통 경고나 관용 이후에 사용되며, 규칙이 엄격하게 적용될 때 자주 쓰인다.

이것은 관용적 표현으로 다소 비격식적이다. 갑자기 관대함에서 엄격함으로 전환할 때 쓴다. 직장, 가정, 학교에서 흔히 등장. 'finally lower the boom'처럼 사용. 비유적 의미로만 사용된다.
