경기, 경쟁, 논쟁과 같은 특정 상황에서 이기지 못하고 지는 것.

‘~에서 지다’ 뒤에는 보통 경기, 결승 등 상황이 옵니다. ‘lose to’와 달리 누구에게 졌는지보다는 어디서 졌는지를 나타냅니다.
