दैनिक बातचीत में आम। बाद में हमेशा वह चीज़ बताई जाती है जिसके लिए प्रतीक्षा की जा रही है: 'line up for टिकट', 'line up for खाना'। ब्रिटिश अंग्रेज़ी में 'queue' अधिक चलता है। यह शब्द अनुशासन और धैर्य का भाव देता है।
