تُستخدم 'line up against' بالمعنى الحرفي (الاصطفاف فعليًا ضد) أو المجازي (معارضة جماعية). شائعة في الرياضة والسياسة والنقاشات وغالبًا يليها الشيء أو الشخص المعارض ('They lined up against the new law.').
