Definition

何か（主にお金）を誰かに貸して、後で返してもらうことを期待すること。「lend to」の後に相手が来ます。

必ず相手が後に続く（'lend to my friend'）。'borrow from'と混同しないように。お金が多いが、他の物にも使える。フォーマル・カジュアルどちらもOK。会話では'to'を省略することも。

I will lend to my brother if he needs money.

弟が必要なら私は**貸して**あげます。
