Definition

কেলপি হল স্কটল্যান্ডের লোককথায় উল্লিখিত এক রূপান্তরকারী জলাত্মা, সাধারণত ঘোড়ার রূপে দেখা যায়। এছাড়াও এটি অস্ট্রেলিয়ায় একটি চৌকস ভেড়ার কুকুরের প্রজাতি।

'কেলপি' বলা হলে প্রসঙ্গে বুঝতে হবে—জলদেবতা (রূপকথা বা গল্পে) না ভেড়ার কুকুর (বাস্তব জীবনে)। 'the kelpie in the river' হলো জলদেবতা, আর 'my kelpie herds sheep' হলে কুকুর বোঝায়।
