Levantar algo pesado con un gato (como un coche), o aumentar algo de repente y mucho, especialmente precios o cifras.

'Jack up' es informal. Literal: levantar con un gato; figurado: subir mucho precios, tarifas o números ('jack up the price'). Es común en negocios y noticias, pero raro en textos formales. No confundir con 'jack in'.
