누군가가 당신에게 질문을 하며, 보통 당신이 직업, 직책 또는 때로는 학교에 적합한지 결정하기 위한 공식적인 만남에 참여하는 것.

대개 특정 직업이나 기관을 이어서 사용('interview for a job'). 주로 취업이나 학업 맥락. 질문하는 입장이 아니라 본인이 면접을 보는 상황. 'interview with'와 혼동하기 쉬움.
