사람이 의식을 잃거나, 육체적·정서적으로 아무것도 느끼지 못하는 상태를 말합니다. 의식불명이나 무감각한 상태를 뜻합니다.

주로 의학적·문학적 맥락에서 사용함. 'insensitive'(무감정한)와는 다름. 예: 'insensible to pain', 'lie insensible'.
