野球やソフトボールで、インフィールドはベースやホームプレートの近くにある内側のエリアを指します。他のスポーツでもフィールドやトラックの内側の部分を意味することがあります。

主に野球やソフトボールで使われ、「インフィールド」は守備位置や選手全体を指すこともあります（例：“the infield”）。“outfield”は外野を表します。他のスポーツではあまり一般的ではありません。
