Definition

液体の中に完全に入っている、または活動や考え、環境に深く没頭している状態。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

日常では比喩的に使うことが多く、『immersed in work（仕事に没頭している）』のように使われます。水中での使用はやや稀です。「submerged」はほとんど物理的に水中の場合に使うので区別してください。
